Lipstick Tuesday: Dior Lip Gloss

Hey, hey, hey!!! Back with another lip review but this time it’s another gloss. Typically I don’t wear to many lip glosses but I actually happen to like this one. I got this particular lip gloss in gratis from Sephora because our store got rid of them but they are still available online.

Dior Rouge Brillant Lipgloss

I got the color 999 (classic Dior red). It has a high shine finish and looks great with an everyday look or even a night on the town.

The gloss isn’t sticky at all and doesn’t make my hair stick to my lips like some of my other lipglosses might do. This gloss closely resembles a liquid lip balm (according to Dior). It has a pen like applicator to disperse the close with precision and ease.

The Dior Rouge Brillant Lipgloss retails for $35 (USD) at Sephora.

Overall I love this gloss and I would order in online in other colors.

Until next time,

Lipstick Tuesday: Smashbox newness

Hey everyone,

I am back with another lipstick swatch and this time I picked up the brand new

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick

Of all the shades available, one called out to me in particular, the color ‘Out Loud’. It is by far the most perfect burnt orange lipstick I have ever seen before in life. Now, typically for my liquid lips I am all about my Kat Von D Beauty but this comes in a close second in terms of formula and staying power. I say second because typically with my KVD Beauty liquid lips, I barely leave any residue behind (like on cans, straws, etc.) but with the Smashbox Always On Matte, I left lip prints here and there.

One thing I can say is as it dried down in color, it got deeper in color which made me love it even more.

Right now, you can pick up the Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick at Sephora for $24 (USD)

And there are the swatches (there may be a post on this look later today, keep a look out!!)

Here are photos of my lips after wearing it for a few hours,

Ok, so the photos above where taken later in the day with a different camera. The color has faded but still remains true to its deep orange hue.

All in all, I love the lipstick, the color, the formula and even the applicator. That pointed doe foot applicator will make sure you can apply the lips simply and evenly.

Have you tried this new liquid lip yet? If so do you like it? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time babes!!

Lipstick Tuesday: ‘Space Cake’ Melt Cosmetics

I always get excited for Lipstick Tuesday!!

I will try and update these posts with newer lipsticks rather than previously released one’s.

Another Melt Cosmetics post, recently I review ‘DGAF’ and ‘Bang!Bang!’. I actually got a few of Melt lipsticks. They are super pigmented, I am talking about one swipe and it’s full on color. They are creamy, yet dries to a matte texture.

Today I bring you a grey shade called ‘Space Cake’ which suits the name very well!!

Available online through Melt Cosmetics here retailing for $19.00 (USD).

They also have a matching eyeshadow for this!! I will review that stack in another post.

Enjoy the swatches 🙂

Lipstick Tuesday: ‘DGAF’ Melt Cosmetics

Hey! y’all know what day it is?! Lipstick Tuesday!! Today I bring you one of my favorite color from Melt Cosmetics in the color ‘DGAF’ (which is now discontinued 😦 )

Like ‘Bang!Bang!’ this color is super, high pigmented, creamy and goes on completely matte. It doesn’t dry out my lips and sometimes I layer it with my Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in ‘echo’ to really intensify the color.

Hopefully in the new couple of weeks (if it doesn’t sell out) I am going to pick up their new verison of this lip which is ‘DO ❤ GAF’ a super pretty iridescent blue with a hint of peacock blue.

But until then, enjoy these blue lips!!

Lipstick Tuesday: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche **NEW color**

Hey everyone I am back with yet another Lipstick Tuesday post. Last week when I received my Sephora gratis, I was given a sample of a new color from Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick collection (click here to see my first review on the lipstick collection itself and the color ‘Molasses’).

This time I received one of their newly released colors in ‘Kale’. I really wanted to swatch this against, ‘Blow’ from Melt Cosmetics but it dried up. Literally. But still I took pics of the lipstick because it is a super pretty deep green color. One of my co-workers said she felt like swamp thing in it, so I told her to use it for Halloween, lol!

Currently available at Sephora, retailing for $26.00 (USD)

On to the swatches (I got a tripod!! So I am able to use my Canon Rebel SL1 more. These swatches were taken with that!)

Bare (kinda, left over gloss from this AM) lips

I went a step further and dabbed one of my favorite Urban Decay shadows (‘Lounge’) on top for a more metallic finish

Lipstick Tuesday: OCC Lip Tar

Hey, Hey, Hey!!

I am back with another lipstick tuesday lipstick swatch and today swatching a lipstick from one of my favorite lipstick brands Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) in the color ‘clockwork’

Currently NOT available at this time! OCC started switching all of their products from squeeze tubes to tubes with wand (doe foot wand). They have been slowly adding back the original colors but this has not made the cut yet. Not sure if it ever come back but check out OCC website and their IG for swatches of other colors along with their color pencils.

The reason why I bought this lip tar was purely based on this photo

photo screen shotted from occ IG account (@occmakeup)

Like seriously!! Kim Nicky looks amazing, those oranges and corals, ugh to die for.

So literally that night, I went and ordered the same products she used on her lips to recreate this look (it was months ago, probably last  year so I can’t find the original, original look I did)

Not quite as orange as it looks on Kim Nicky but I love the results just the same. The lipstick does dry to a matte finish but it takes hours to actually dry to the matte finish. It doesn’t bother me though, I love the finish as it comes straight out the tube.

If you know anything about OCC lip tars, on drop is enough to cover your lips. Also it is important to use it often, it is a vegan makeup brand made with all sorts of all natural ingredients, that said the peppermint oil in it will separate from the other ingredients, so it needs to be shaken often if it is not used everyday.

Do you have any lip tars from OCC? Do you like them? Let me know in the comments below!!

Until next time loves!!

Lipstick Tuesday: Burberry Lip Velvet

Welcome back!

Today I am going to change up how I present the lipstick swatches. I am going to show a before (bare lips), picture with the lipstick, and a photo of how  I would typically wear the lipstick. Sometimes when I swatch something for you guys, that is not how I usually where it out the house. So now that is out of the way today I am present…

Burberry Lip Velvet lipstick in Nude Aprioct (No. 401)

I love, love this lipstick!

  • It has a soft matte finish that doesn’t dry out the lips at all. The packaging is cute.
  • Presented in a dark grey, matte square case with a magnetic closing. This ensures that the top isn’t going to come off if it is tossing around in your makeup bage.
  • Color goes on pretty pigmently with one stroke.
  • Paired with the right lip liner, this color is really women of color friendly.

This lipstick is available at Sephora (select stores and online) retails for $34.00 (USD)

Do you have any of the Burberry lipsticks? Do you love them? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time
